BOD (Biochemical Oxygen Demand) analysis is a simple and effective method for monitoring microbial activity in water samples, providing highly reliable results.

Microorganisms present in water containing biodegradable organic matter consume oxygen for their metabolism and produce carbon dioxide (CO₂). CO₂ is absorbed by a strong alkaline solution positioned in the neck of the bottle, leading to a decrease in system pressure. The BOD Sensor measures this pressure change from the beginning to the end of the analysis and expresses the result in mg/L (ppm).

Easy BOD Determination

  • Measurement ranges: 90, 250, 600, 999, and 4000 ppm BOD
  • Higher values can be measured by diluting the sample
  • Direct sensor placement on the sample bottle
  • Automatic storage of 5 BOD values at 24-hour intervals
  • Enables continuous analysis over weekends
  • Results are immediately available at any time, even after five days
